Collingwood & Co - Rose of York brooch

This brooch originally formed the centrepiece of a bracelet. At the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of York (the future King George V and Queen Mary) in 1893 each bridesmaid received one as a gift from the bridegroom, whose emblems are integral to the design. The diamond anchor recalls Prince George’s naval career and the white Rose of York, highlights his recent creation as Duke of York.

the glass pingle

As one who likes to embroider on the go....in the garden ,on the train, in the car..... I have needed somewhere safe for my needles ! I usually end up wearing them and then forgetting so when I was making some of my pin cushion buttons recently I wondered if rings would work and they do ! A heart-shaped gold locket; the front engraved with EV cypher, containing the hair of the Duke and Duchess of Kent with an engraved presentation inscription, which reads, Present from her Mother to her beloved Victoria on the First Anniversary of her Birthday 24 May 1820. Fitted with a plain suspension ring.
