I've found that a beret works well for both my hair and face shape as well as being a classic style that works for any decade. Le Béret is one of the most famous French couvre-chefs (hats) ever. It was originally made for working class men, then during the WW II, the beret became the enblem of French patriotism when the French Resistance adopted it.
