Françoise Design, Inc. ("Françoise", "we", "us") operates the Françoise Figma plugin and related website (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and how we protect it. We designed Françoise around data minimization: we collect as little as possible and store almost nothing about your design work.

2. What we collect — and what we don't

We deliberately keep collection minimal:

• Figma user identifier (user_id): the only account identifier we store. We do not store your name or email in our database.
• Design system data: stored in our database to power the Service.
• Layout / mockup data: processed in memory only and never stored on our servers. Once processing completes, this data is gone.
• Billing data: handled entirely by our payment provider (see Section 4). We do not receive or store card numbers.

We do not run analytics, marketing email, or tracking tools.

3. How the plugin accesses Figma

Françoise runs through the Figma Plugin API using the currentuser permission and network requests only. We access the design content you actively run the plugin on, and we do not retain your mockups after processing.

4. Service providers (subprocessors)

We share the limited data above only with providers strictly necessary to run the Service:

• Microsoft Azure — hosting and database, region North Europe (EU).
• Lemon Squeezy — Merchant of Record for payments; processes billing and card data on their systems.
• Google (Gemini) — AI processing of design data. We are migrating this to Azure OpenAI. Your data is not used to train any AI models.

5. AI processing

Design data may be sent to our AI provider to perform Françoise's analysis and fixes. This data is used solely to deliver the result to you and is never used to train models. No personal data is required for this processing.

6. Data retention and deletion

Because layout data is never stored, there is little to retain. Stored data (design systems, Figma user_id) is deleted within 24 hours of your deletion request. Contact [email protected] to request deletion.

7. International transfers

Data is hosted in the EU (Azure North Europe). We are based in Israel, which the EU recognizes as providing an adequate level of data protection. Where data is processed in the United States (e.g., our AI provider), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

We protect data with TLS encryption in transit, need-to-know access controls, two-factor authentication, and access logging. We are working toward SOC 2 compliance.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection) and the CCPA/CPRA (access, deletion, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing — note we do not sell or share personal information). 10. Cookies

Our website uses only essential cookies required for it to function. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Security at Françoise

Françoise is built around a simple idea: the less data we hold, the safer your work is. We collect almost nothing and store even less. Here's exactly how we protect your design data.

Your mockups are never stored

When Françoise analyzes your file, layout and mockup data is processed in memory only and is never written to our servers. Once processing finishes, it's gone. There is nothing to leak, because we don't keep it.

We store the bare minimum

The only identifier we keep is your Figma user_id. We do not store your name or email address. Your design system data is stored solely to power the Service.

No AI training on your data

Françoise uses AI to analyze and fix your designs. Your data is used only to produce your result — it is never used to train any AI models.

EU hosting

Our infrastructure and database run on Microsoft Azure in the North Europe (EU) region. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS.

Minimal access

Access to customer data is restricted on a strict need-to-know basis — currently limited to our CTO. We use two-factor authentication and access logging. Everyone with access is bound by written confidentiality obligations.

Limited Figma permissions

The plugin runs through the Figma Plugin API using only the currentuser permission and network requests. We access only what you actively run the plugin on.

Fast deletion & Incident response

Because we store so little, cleanup is quick. On request, stored data is deleted within 24 hours. If a security incident affecting customer data ever occurs, we notify affected customers within 72 hours.

Trusted providers

We rely on a small set of vetted providers: Microsoft Azure (hosting), Lemon Squeezy (payments), and our AI provider (currently Google Gemini, migrating to Azure OpenAI). None of them use your data to train models.

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Françoise Figma plugin and website (the "Service"), operated by Françoise Design, Inc., a Delaware corporation, 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, Delaware 19713, USA ("Françoise", "we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Françoise reads your design system, identifies deviations from it, and helps fix them so your Figma files are clean and production-ready.

2. Accounts

You access the Service through your Figma account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Plans and pricing

• Free — core features at no cost.
• Pro Monthly — $29 per month.
• Pro Annual — $300 per year.

Annual subscribers keep their locked-in price for as long as the subscription remains active ("price lock").

4. Billing and Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your purchase, and charges may appear on your statement as "LEMONSQUEEZY.COM" or similar. Lemon Squeezy calculates, collects, and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT.

5. Auto-renewal and cancellation

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. By subscribing, you provide express affirmative consent to recurring charges. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period, through your account or via Lemon Squeezy.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your design files and content. Layout data is processed in memory and never stored, and your data is never used to train AI models. Françoise retains all rights in the plugin, software, and underlying technology.

7. Disclaimer of warranties & Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Automated suggestions and fixes are provided for your review; you are responsible for the final output. Françoise's total liability arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Françoise is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

8. Termination & Governing Law

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to purchases of Françoise Check (the “Service”), provided by Françoise Design, Inc. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. Merchant of Record

All purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC, which is the seller of record. Refunds, when granted, are issued through Lemon Squeezy back to your original payment method.

2. Free Plan

Our Free plan lets you evaluate the Service (full layout checks and 5 automated fixes per month) at no cost before purchasing a paid plan. We encourage you to use it to confirm the Service fits your needs.

3. 14-Day Refund Window

If you are not satisfied with a Pro Monthly or Pro Annual subscription, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase. To request a refund, email [email protected] with your account email and order number.

4. Renewals

Subscriptions renew automatically. Charges for renewal periods are generally non-refundable. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before your renewal date via your account or billing portal. If a renewal was charged in error or you contact us promptly after an unintended renewal, we may issue a refund at our discretion.

5. Exceptions

Refunds may be declined for suspected fraud, abuse, or violation of our Terms of Service. Partial-period refunds are not provided for mid-cycle cancellations; access continues until the end of the paid period.

6. Processing Time & Contact

Approved refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your payment provider and Lemon Squeezy’s processing times.
