Free media application to play Blu-ray videos

Free Blu-ray Player will represent a worthwhile tool for those who are fans of these high-definition videos. In fact, this player can be an excellent alternative to more memory-intensive versions such as RealPlayer or QuickTime Pro. Its architecture is quite easy to use and thanks to a streamlined layout, it can be activated immediately after a download. The basic version is free to download. High-quality playback adds to the functionality of this package.

Basic Features and Attributes

Free Blu-ray Player is able to handle all files associated with this format. Even partitioned folders such as ISO files will be recognized. This will often prove to be somewhat problematic for other video plug-ins. A dedicated encoding engine ensures that the quality of these videos will not be compromised, another common issue with more generic platforms. There are versions available for the Mac OS as well as Windows including the new Windows 11.

Other Options

All videos will be displayed in the standard MPEG-2 format. Still, Free Blu-ray Player is able to handle many other of the most common video codecs. A short list includes .M4A, .AVI, .MP3, .RAM and .WMV. Thus, this system could even be seen as a dedicated replacement to other players currently on the market. A 30-day guarantee is available for the paid version.

User reviews about Free Blu-ray Player

by Chuck Kaye

When it does run, it fails to display a real menu just "titles". The free version places watermark on the video so that it is annoying and distracting to watch and then only runs for a short time. The paid version is not much better and all of a sudden stopped working and does not accept the registration code. I tried to contact the company and all three emails have been ignored. So, they are either no longer supporting this software or the company no longer exists. There are better players.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
