Love Lula Belle's slaw.

Whew!  I think the end is in sight for salads.  Maybe one more post of them.

More Old Recipes

Here are some more of Jeanetta's old recipes.  The thumbnails were so tiny I couldn't tell what order they were in, but here they are. I cannot comment on this post or anyone else's and I hate that because I love talking with all of you.  Hope blogger gets it fixed soon.  Also been trying new headers and can't figure out how to use my google photographs and can't find older ones.  I don't do tech very well.

I didn't forget.  I'll try and get them all posted before the holidays in case you might use one.

New Recipes

Some more recipes.  I think this is the seventh posting.  I'll keep them coming.  I looked on the grocery shelf last week and they do still sell the dried beef in glass jars.  It looks just like jerky. I'd like to try this ham and bean soup.

Old Time Recipes

It is slow going, but there are some good ones to come.  Jeanetta started with Dips and Appetizers and if I get out of order, well, I will get it mixed up.  These punches were probably made for weddings and anniversaries.  I seriously doubt old Hubert ever tasted likker'.

Old Recipes

More recipes.  They do get better and more interesting.  The parties in the country weren't a big affair. Farmers are too tired to party.

Ivan Day

I have posted about Ivan Day before.  He is an English food historian and professional chef, with an encyclopedic knowledge of the history of food.  In his latest post at Food History Jottings, foodhistorjottings.blogspot.com, he writes about one my favorite subjects.  I too collect old food moulds, but none as old as these. I am always just amazed when he posts.  It isn't often enough for me. Hurry on over to see his latest.

Here you'll see some of Ivan's collection of antique moulds.

One of his jellies from a macedoine mould.  How gorgeous is this?

Isn't this Belgravia jelly incredible?  I've never seen anyone with the knowledge this man has of all things culinary.  He's been on the BBC and I've seen him on PBS.  Mr. Day is legend in food history.
