‘Metal Form Suite’ is a compilation that offers a reflection of the sounds, spaces and people that embody the DIY party ethos. This project seeks to catalogue loose interpretive rhythms and sound design that queries what is sonically within reach on ever evolving dancefloors. A wide range of artists feature on this compilation, each showcasing their own unique tastes. We are grateful to each artist who has offered to work with us on this release from it's conception.

The artwork for ‘Metal Form Suite’ was created by Annabelle McEwen (@annabelle_mcewen_) and consists of an image transfer onto aluminium sheet metal, measuring 20 x 20 cm. Annabelle’s practice sees digitally, chemically or physically distorted figures that are projected onto various materials, transforming their contortion into consideration. By working directly with visibly raw materials, this artwork compliments each featured artist’s own sonic identity, whilst also keeping in line with General Merchants’ own design concept.

We acknowledge that we operate on stolen land, belonging to the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respects to Aboriginal elders past, present and emerging.
