Economic, tax, and regulatory uncertainty is increasing the need for strategic guidance. At the same time, market consolidation, driven in part by large financial groups, is reshaping the industry, raising expectations around responsiveness, advisory services, and client experience.

For small and medium-sized businesses, accountants are increasingly acting as outsourced CFOs and trusted business advisors. Clients no longer expect them simply to produce financial statements or meet compliance deadlines. They expect them to understand their business, identify risks, uncover opportunities, and help them make better decisions at the right time.

Accounting firms already possess all the information needed to fulfil this role: accounting and financial data, payroll, tax information, documents, deadlines, client communications, and regulatory updates. Yet this information remains scattered across multiple software solutions and client files. It is rarely analyzed together or monitored continuously. As a result, critical signals often emerge only at year-end or when the client proactively reaches out.

The challenge is no longer access to data. The challenge is connecting it, understanding it, and transforming it into action.
