Mobile caller ID app

GetContact is a communication app from GetVerify LDA. It was designed to keep all annoying telemarketing and scam calls off your phone. It comes with a caller ID feature, which allows you to identify who is calling you. With this, you don’t have to get anxious every time an unknown number calls your phone. However, while the software is helpful, using it can be difficult. The login process doesn't work at times, rendering it somewhat useless.

What does the app do?

GetContact is primarily a caller ID app that automatically identifies the person who is calling you. You'll know who is on the other line even though they are not on your contacts list. More than identifying unknown callers, the program also helps you block calls from spammers. It comes with a Spam Protection feature, which blocks and reports unwanted calls. You only need to activate this feature, and you will be free from these annoying calls.

GetContact requires an internet connection and also has you create an account and log in every time you want to activate its feature. This is where the issues with the login process can be quite problematic. The app requires a verification code every time you log in. However, it sometimes fails to send them to your number, thereby hindering you from using it. If you manage to log in successfully, the unintuitive interface will be your next hurdle.

Another thing worth noting about GetContact is the fact that it is not actually free to use. Sure, you can download it for free, but you will need to pay up if you want to use the various features that it offers. You can pay for the premium subscription or buy each function via the in-app shop. Note, however, that the tools will require weekly, monthly, or annual renewal.

Should you download the app?

GetContact is a helpful tool that allows you to manage your calls. With it, you can identify your callers and even have them blocked. However, just logging in to the app is hard. More often than not, you won’t receive the needed verification code that allows you to gain access and activate its features. Moreover, there are issues with the program that may put your privacy at risk and its security measures in question.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
