First install pkger so it is available in PATH.

Prepare the release directory,

# Move the binary to the dist directory
mv ./minio ./dist/linux-amd64/minio.$VERSION
- Ensure minio.service exists:
wget -O minio.service "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/minio/minio-service/refs/heads/master/linux-systemd/minio.service"
- Run pkger:
pkger -r $VERSION --appName minio --ignore --releaseDir=dist
./dist
will contain the packaged files (rpm, deb, etc).

- The downloads JSON includes only RPM and DEB installation instructions (APK is built but not documented)

- Warp uses semantic versioning with a
v
prefix (e.g.,v0.4.3
), not date-based release tags like minio - The
v
prefix is required for input but is stripped in package filenames (e.g.,warp-0.4.3-1.x86_64.rpm
) following standard RPM/DEB conventions - Warp packages are built for
amd64
andarm64
architectures only (noppc64le
) - The downloads JSON includes cross-platform support: Linux (Binary, RPM, DEB), macOS (Binary for arm64), Windows (Binary)
