Hi, I'm Logan 👋

I'm a machine learning infrastructure engineer at Google. My current focus is on increasing continuous ML experimentation velocity and efficiency. Previously, I worked on ML infra at Microsoft and researched machine learning applications within medical imaging. You can find more about my work on LinkedIn.

I write a newsletter to help software engineers understand machine learning and how important their role is in building AI (the most important, tbh). You can find that here.

When I'm not making TPUs go brrrrr, I'm spending time with my beautiful wife and five kids (including two sets of identical twins and one super middle child), enjoying a swim, or playing video games, tabletop games, or card games. I'm curious and a huge fan of incredible engineering (ranging from Formula 1 to 3D printing to building with LEGO).

I consider myself an optimist, pronoid, and a huge proponent of learning things in public. I firmly believe there isn't a thing in life one can't learn, but it takes work to do so and is more easily accomplished with others. I credit where I'm at in life (career, family, etc.) to the incredible support system I've had along the way and recognize that the people I've spent my time with have molded me into who I am. I hope to have a similar positive impact of those around me.

I have a connective tissue autoimmune disease that greatly impacts my life and has taken a decade to learn how to manage. If you find yourself in a similar situation and are looking for advice, please reach out and I'll offer support in any way I can. Things get better, but it takes time.

If you have any questions or want to chat, you can find me on X, Substack, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
