Supporting Clay Artists on Instagram: "Making a bowl from a cylinder when you are a beginner is smart because it gives you an opportunity to pull your walls up and then shape them, instead of doing both at the same time which can be tricky and cause problems for beginners. This is also a good opportunity to practice compressing the bottom of your bowl. Want to learn more? @clay_arts_support is offering a five week online class to improve your throwing skills. This is a class for people who have been throwing for two or three years and want some personalized help in getting them to the next level. #pnwpottery #potteryvideos #potteryclasses #potteryclass #artistsupport" Throw A Bowl On Wheel, Wheel Throwing Ideas Beginner, Beginner Throwing Pottery, How To Throw A Bowl On The Wheel, Throwing A Mug On The Wheel, Pottery Throwing For Beginners, Beginner Pottery Wheel Projects, Beginner Clay Projects, Clay Arts

TMC Pottery Australia on Instagram: "Have you ever made a bowl using this technique before? Generally, I pull my bowls up from the base upwards, slowly bringing the clay out to get the shape but this time around, I decided to actually open it from the inside out to see whether or not it would give me a different look One of the most important things when you are with throwing is to constantly try new techniques and figure out new ways, you can do the same thing. For this particular bowl, I decided to shape it a little differently, which ended up making it one of the most consistent bowls in terms of proportion I’ve made! This may be a new way that I make these shapes on the wheel head. Let me know how you make yours?! Or if this is a similar technique that you use, and as always, hope y Glazing On The Wheel, Beginning Wheel Throwing, Pottery Decorating Techniques, Throw A Bowl On Wheel, Wheel Clay Ideas, How To Throw Pottery On A Wheel, Throwing A Bowl On The Wheel, Throwing Bowls Pottery Wheel, How To Throw A Bowl On The Wheel

Kate Rowe Creations on Instagram: "Throw a mug with me ☕️✨👩‍🎨 I have some big projects in the works and it’s made me a full time resident of Mug City over here. Not that I’m complaining - love making a good simple mug! ☺️ This is 1.5 speed but I’m usually still a little quick on the wheel lol I know I make it look easy but it’s alllllll practice practice practice. There’s a reason we tell you to throw cylinders over and over in class before everything else 🙃 PLUS I’ve gotten pretty efficient with my @hartleyandnoble tile batt system. Honestly, it’s a game changer for pottery life!
