Wow the users on the threadiverse are far more combative than users on the rest of the fediverse in my experience. Every few posts I make somebody tries to start an argument with me. I think reddit-style content really brings out the worst in people.

I'm getting a bit annoyed with incomplete profiles on the fediverse. Has anybody managed to create a practical solution to this problem yet?

As much as I'd like to keep Fedi notifications on 24/7, this community if far too global. I get notifications at all hours of the day and night from random interactions all over the world.

What a wonderful place.

I've been a daily smoker of marijuana for half my life (started at 14 and I'm approaching 30).

I finally decided it's time to quit.

It's been pretty easy so far (and honestly quite refreshing), but the lack of sleep is starting to drive me a bit crazy.

Okay for the first time since 2020 I'm giving KDE a solid try outside of using it on my Steam Deck. Going to keep using GNOME with Fedora on my laptop and KDE with CachyOS on my desktop for now.

I helped a friend set up his home server recently. Starting to understand why these all-in-one solutions are getting more and more popular.

Even with someone who's interested in self hosting, I could see some of what I was explaining would go in one ear and out the other. All he wants are services at home, not a new hobby.

#GNOME is actually the ideal interface for a mobile device. I wonder if my #OnePlus6 is finally reliable enough to use #PostmarketOS full time. Maybe my next device will be something powerful that can run #Linux from day 1.

Between #FireFox, #Tuba, #Secrets, #Joplin, #Signal, #Lagrange, and #Interstellar, I have everything I need and use most days. The only real barrier is that I use #XMPP for calling and texting through #JMP, so I'll have to do some reliability testing.

The Fediverse seems quieter since moving to my self hosted instance. Not sure if that's because I don't appear on the local timeline on Fosstodon, or if I've just been posting and interacting less.
