Email? That sounds sketchy. What if my mail providers goes down? I lose my account and all my emails? I don't see it catching on.

People of the fediverse, what is your *main* chat app right now?

For the vast majority of my communication I'm using #Signal, with #Fluxer as a close second.

After running a small #Luanti server with about a dozen active players for ~2 years, I can really appreciate the work that goes in to running free public services.

Things break unexpectedly, it costs money even if you're doing it for as cheap as possible, and there's this guilt you feel when things go wrong.

Everybody should throw some love to your local fedi instance admin(s) or whichever admins from your favorite public services. Let them know you appreciate the work they do!

I moved all my friends from #Discord to #Fluxer, and it's been surprisingly seamless. We were using #Matrix for a brief period of time, but too many missing features left them wanting for more. Fluxer is basically a 1-to-1 replacement for Discord and everybody is quite satisfied so far!

Well, I used #KDE for just over 6 months, and I'm back on #GNOME. As much as I really enjoyed KDE, there's just something about GNOME that really works for me.

Happy to have options!

Seems like #Fluxer is getting to be quite popular. Happy to see an (open source) alternative to #Discord that I can actually see my friends using.

Wow the users on the threadiverse are far more combative than users on the rest of the fediverse in my experience. Every few posts I make somebody tries to start an argument with me. I think reddit-style content really brings out the worst in people.

So far I'm at the "everything sucks" part of #enshitiffication and looking forward to the "and what to do about it" part, because god damn this is upsetting.

As much as I'd like to keep Fedi notifications on 24/7, this community if far too global. I get notifications at all hours of the day and night from random interactions all over the world.

I finally decided it's time to quit.

It's been pretty easy so far (and honestly quite refreshing), but the lack of sleep is starting to drive me a bit crazy.

#DavidChartrand of the #Manitoba #Métis Federation has been the president for 28 years. He's getting up there in age and considering retirement, yet I can't imagine anybody replacing him. The #MMF wouldn't be where it is today without him.

Okay for the first time since 2020 I'm giving KDE a solid try outside of using it on my Steam Deck. Going to keep using GNOME with Fedora on my laptop and KDE with CachyOS on my desktop for now.
