so, fun thing, i tried oblivion remastered again on my new laptop (on the framework with i7-1370p i was getting around 8 fps even with everything aggressively set to lowest)
and... it can be made playable on the x7 358h with b390 graphics
none of the fsr or xess settings quite do it, but disabling both and setting the resolution scale to 25 (with native display res of 2880x1800 that should be a quarter of the screen ie 1440x900) plus TAA antialiasing and everything else set to medium it does work quite playably and looks pretty good (getting around 30fps most of the time)
so still pretty impressed with how fast this laptop is, not just in compiling but also graphics

@q66 (edit: boosts welcome whether you're Czech or not, the more people we reach the better!)
Duha do ulic Brno is organizing a protest in front of the court at Moravské náměstí in Brno on the 16th at 18:00, come join us!
The chances are slim, I know, but hey, we have to try. On paper, if we make enough noise, this might discourage enough MPs from voting for it (on top of all the legal issues with this wet rag of a proposal) for it to not be passed.
I'm done with the legal part of the transition too so technically I could just not give a shit and let the people who this will affect fight against it, but "fuck you got mine" isn't how we create a better world, is it?
(edit 2: there also is a protest in Prague on the 17th, see replies to this post!)
so apparently there is a new proposal in czechia that if passed will drastically restrict access to transitions and will require you to get subjected to a year of what basically seems to be conversion therapy
the people proposing it? no it's not the current government (which really sucks on its own for a variety of reasons), it's the liberal-conservative opposition that was in charge the last time (some asshole from ODS supported by other assholes from ODS, STAN and KDU)
oh "fun", it seems the ICE trains between nürnberg and wien are no longer running next week (due to construction at regensburg) for the next few months
and there is exactly one ICE per day from münchen to wien and it costs 100€
i need to go back to brno on monday and come back on friday
so i'm gonna try the alternative route
there are trains going between schwandorf and prague, i have a d-ticket so it covers my trip to schwandorf (which takes about an hour) and also a part of my trip to prague
so i reserved tickets between furth im wald and brno via čd (since it's a lot cheaper than going through db) and the rest is on d-ticket
total price of the return trip this way is 78€ and nothing can really go bad because the schwandorf-prague trains go every two hours and the nürnberg-schwandorf every hour
it takes a bit longer, but there is way less potential for things to go bad (since there is redundancy) and it costs me less than a single one way ICE trip
