Homemade granola
Homemade granola is perfect for snacking, adding to yoghurt or oatmeal, or sprinkling over salads and smoothie bowls. Not only is homemade granola a healthier alternative to store-bought options, but it also allows you to control the ingredients and avoid artificial sweeteners. Once you have all the ingredients, you can tailor the recipe to your preference—perhaps by adding your favourite nuts, seeds, or dried fruit.
Ingredients
1½ cups old-fashioned oats
100g almond nuts
40g coconut flakes
½ cup raisins
½ tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons maple syrup
Vanilla essence

Instructions
Preheat your oven to a medium heat setting.
In a large bowl, combine the oats, almonds, coconut flakes, salt, cinnamon, honey, maple syrup, and vanilla essence. Mix carefully until all the ingredients are well combined.
Line a tray with parchment paper and add the mixture to the tray. Transfer the tray to the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove the tray from the oven and stir the mixture again to ensure it is properly mixed.
Return the tray to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes. If you prefer a crunchier texture, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.
Once the second baking is done, remove the tray from the oven and mix in the raisins and coconut flakes.
Allow the granola to cool completely before serving or storing it in an airtight container.
