Gyan won his first guitar in a raffle when he was 12 years old. Gyan is a frequent collaborator with Paul Simon, Devendra Banhart, Arooj Aftab, Bill Frisell, Julian Lage, John Zorn and Terry Riley. He is a core member of Paul Simon’s band for the 2025 US Tour. Winter Sun, his 8th album and first as a vocalist, was released on Feb. 7, 2025.
