This was a lot of fun to create. My starting point was Ethiopian Amharic script. I began to refine the characters and before long, a coherent new visual style began to emerge. After establishing an alpha-numeric system with the glyphs I had created, I then decided to create another layer of linguistic obfuscation, in effect by translating everything into Esperanto.
