Women center architecture

Forty-centimeter-thick load bearing adobe walls sustain the weight of the upper ceiling and, at the same time, improve the thermal and acoustic isolation. There has been a large trend of migration within Nigeria from rural areas to the urban city of Abuja, Nigeria. Our project looks at migration of women to the urban city. When women migrate, in our case, it is due to social and political conflicts such as forced arranged marriages, lack of land, political unrest and to get a better future in the city.

The Design Efforts for this Women's Pavilion at Nigeria is summarised by this quote" A Woman is the Full Circle. Within her is the Power to CREATE, NURTURE and TRANSFORM." The Design showcases an introvert planning and all the activities are planned around the centeral space. Thus the structure blossoms around this Nucleus.

The idea behind the project was to create a safe center for homeless youth, where they can prepare to start an independabt life. The place provides mental support, care and help in starting professional career. It is adapted to holding lessons and profesiolan woorkshops. Young people will able to recive the support of career counselor.

The Women’s Center is a landmark facility that houses two primary tenants, Asante Women’s Imaging, and The Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon. The project prominently features natural materials that emphasize both beauty and durability, and also connect the building with the surrounding context. Local stone and wood products are featured throughout the building.
