Butterflies and the Palm Tree

Suggesting sunset and warmth, this special piece is sure to be a hit in your home. The beautiful butterflies embrazened on the mostly dark red/maroon glass are the result of glass fusion, the art of using a kiln to melt glass into a mold. The mold used in this case is one of butterflies floating in the breeze. The palm tree in the foreground is the second part of this piece. Using the aluminum base as a stand for the butterfly panel, the palm tree is an attractive brace for the glass. The two together are striking. At its tallest point, the palm tree is 7.5 inches tall and at the widest, the glass is 12 inches wide. As can be seen in the photos, light in the front or the back of this art really sets off the piece. The shiny aluminum is just beautiful.
