Just another reason I love thrifting! Two things that are plentiful at my local thrift store are pillar candleholders, and glassware. I decided to use gorilla glue to thrift flip a 2 dollar pillar candlestick and a 69 cent glass plate into a pretty pedestal stand to style on my antique mahogany lamp table. How to add an IOD Paint Inlay to a lampshade

How to put an Iron Orchid Designs Paint Inlay on a lampshade. I used Wise Owl Paint Chalk Synthesis Paint in Snow Owl with the IOD Indigo Floral inlay. Typically, you only use a basecoat of your paint and let that dry and then you apply a second coat of your paint in sections so that you can embed your paint inlay face down into your second coat. Reds are typically quite hard to cover, especially with a white, so I actually ended up using three coats of the snow owl to cover this. I mixed Wise Owl’s One Hour Enamel Clear (because it dries fast) in Satin with some water in a spray bottle and spritzed that over my lampshade when it was finished. The paint inlays are water activated until they are sealed, and therefore, you must use a SPRAY sealer first. You can brush on additional coa
