EVE is Edge Virtualization Engine https://github.com/lf-edge/eve
1M+
EVE is an open, agnostic and standardized architecture unifying the approach to developing and orchestrating cloud-native applications across the enterprise on-premises edge. It offers users new levels of control through hardware-assisted virtualization and container/kubetnetes runtimes on on-prem edge devices. Once installed, EVE has direct access to and control of underlying resources and provides standard APIs that allow more efficient use of resources and can effectively partition hardware to increase workload consolidation and application multi-tenancy. All of the configuration of the edge devices and the deployment and operation of the applications/workloads is done using the declarative EVE API which can handle intermittent connectivity, disconnected operations, and complex network configuration setups which are common in industrial environments.
Runs on anything from small ARM64 devices like Raspberry PIs to huge Intel/AMD servers with multiple GPUs.
