The Bridge v0.2 - New Maps, Kit Editor and more!

Hello,

We just released v0.2 for The Bridge, with 6 brand new maps, leaderboards, and more! We'd like to say thank you to those of you who have been playing and offering feedback so far. Your suggestions will help to improve this game and bring it to its full potential. Read below for more details on the update. :)

Beyond The Bridge, we are working on lots of new content. New games, updates, and a guild update are coming your way very soon! Stay tuned for more information on these upcoming projects.

Overview
  • Added 6 new maps.
  • Added leaderboards for wins and goals.
  • Added inventory editor for all modes in the lobby menu.
  • Can now view your personal statistics in the lobby menu - including wins, goals, win streak, and more.
  • Added player counts per-mode in the lobby menu.
  • Fixed rejoin sometimes making you invisible (for real this time).
  • Other small bugfixes.
New Maps
We've added 6 new maps, each with a unique layout. We are experimenting with varied map layouts to see what works best for the game. Be sure to let us know what you think of them!

Instead of a central path to the goal, Sorcery has two front entrances with two more entrances on the left and right sides of the island. Be wary of all possible lanes to the goal!

Hyperfrost utilizes an open concept - there are very few physical barriers keeping enemy players from scoring. Small floating islands provide built-in defense positions as well as alternative paths to the goal.

This map has longer spawn islands and precarious front platforms. Mind the gap!

This lavish and modern home provides three paths to the goal along with ample space for living luxuriously.

This map is the second incarnation of The Bridge's original map, this time with more cholesterol.

Leaderboards

Leaderboards for Wins and Goals are now available in the pregame lobby of every mode. In the future, we will be adding special rewards for being at the top of the leaderboard. For now, fight your way to the top to earn bragging rights! NOTE: Leaderboards may be reset at any time as The Bridge is still in Prototype!

Stats and Inventory Editor

The lobby menu now contains both Stats and Inventory Editor icons! The paper icon leads to your personal stat page, which contains both per-mode and global statistics. You can now edit your inventory layout per-mode by clicking on the anvil.

Future of The Bridge (v0.3)

We are currently working on a 10v10 mode using in-game perks - your feedback on that would be greatly appreciated! ▶ SkyWars & Bed Wars Easter Loot Chests
Every player who logins during the seasonal event will also receive a free Easter Loot Chest by visiting the Shop in any Bed Wars Lobby and all Loot Chests received by leveling up in Bed Wars and all Loot Chests received through Quests in SkyWars will be Easter Chests. Easter Chests contain the new seasonal cosmetics as well as the existing normal cosmetics. Easter Loot Chests can only be purchased or unlocked during the seasonal event, and you can buy Easter cosmetics directly using coins (only during the Easter period).

New PTL Game - The Bridge

Hello! Today we bring you a new game - The Bridge - available to play now in the Prototype Lobby!

PLEASE READ!
We decided to do things differently with this minigame so please read this warning!

As a Prototype Lobby minigame, it is meant to be quite simple to test an idea but this time we want to involve the community in the very early stages. As you will see, the minigame is very simple but has quite a lot of potential - hopefully together we can make something amazing (or not!).

If you want to see more objectives, classes/kits or twists... now is your chance! I will be actively monitoring the topic and have fun with it!

I understand this might not be as you are used to because of it's simplicity but let's try to have some fun with this one and give us your suggestions.
PLEASE READ!

Like all PTL games The Bridge is currently in-development and you may encounter bugs or other issues. Stats may be reset at any time. This is v0.1 of The Bridge - if you like it, please let us know in the comments or on the subforum.

▶ What is The Bridge
The objective of The Bridge is to cross the 1-block-wide bridge from your base to your opponent's base and jump in their portal to score a goal. Each time a teammate jumps into the opposing team's portal, your team scores a point and all players are respawned at the starting gates. Note that the map does not reset each round, all the blocks that you build will stay on the map until the end of the game! The first team to score 5 goals wins.

Players spawn with the same basic kit each life, which includes combat gear, blocks, golden apples and a unique arrow with a short cooldown. Arrows regenerate every 4 seconds and you can only have up to 1 arrow at a time.

To play The Bridge, join the game via the NPC in the Prototype Lobby. There are currently two modes of The Bridge that you can play: 2v2 and 4v4. Party up with your friends and see how well you do!

Since The Bridge is a new Prototype game, we expect there to be some issues. Therefore any feedback, whether it be a bug report or gameplay suggestion, is welcome! If the game is popular, we will continue development on it in the future. Try out a few games and let us know what you think. Enjoy! :)

Hypixel Experience Update

Hello everyone!

As announced in the discussion thread, we've released an update to Hypixel Experience, which greatly increases the amount of Hypixel Experience you get from playing games!

We received a lot of feedback about how difficult it is to get experience in-game just from playing. To level up quickly, players often resorted to so-called "Exp Parties" instead of actually playing more games. To address this issue and make actually playing games more rewarding, we've made the following changes:

▶ Up to 40% more exp from Quests and Challenges
Quests and challenges give players Hypixel Experience for completing various tasks in games, such as killing a certain number of players, winning a game... All challenges now give 40% more Hypixel Experience than before, and quests give between 20% and 40% more exp - this depends on the quest and how long it takes to complete. If you complete all quests and challenges, you can now get around 35% more Hypixel Experience than before!

▶ Exp for playing games now based on time, increased 10x
The rewards you got for playing games weren't balanced - your time in some games was worth more than in other games, and the rewards weren't very rewarding. We changed this by moving to a time-based system - the amount of Hypixel Experience you get now depends entirely on the amount of time you spent playing. You will get 10 exp for every minute you spend in game. If you win, you get 3.5x that much exp, or 35 per minute.

▶ Party Bonus
When playing in a party, you will get 10% more Hypixel Experience for playing games. We hope this will encourage everyone to spend more time playing with players, making new friends along the way!

▶ Experience for playing Housing
Until now, playing in Housing gave no Hypixel Experience, since the game never "ends" like all our other games do. We've now changed this and made Housing give 10 exp per minute to active players, just like all other games. To get the exp, you need to be actively playing - whether that's building, chatting or even just completing parkours.

▶ Changes to Exp Bags
When a player opens a Gift they received from another player, they radiate with Generosity for one game. Every player in that game is in the end rewarded with a bag of Hypixel Experience, which they can open at the Mystery Vault. This resulted in the creation of so-called "Exp Parties" where a large group of players would get together, all radiating with Generosity, and everybody in the party would get large amounts of Hypixel Experience. Based on feedback, we've decided to impose a limit on the number of Exp Bags you can get from one game.

Starting in April, a maximum of 20 players will be able to radiate with Generosity in one game. Players whose Generosity does not activate in a game because of this cap won't lose their generosity - it'll activate the first game it can without exceeding the limit. This change will go live at the start of April, so anybody that bought gifts with parties in mind will still be able to use them until the end of March.

I'm Eric, one of Hypixel's newest developers, and today I've got a SkyWars bug fix patch for you to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Bug Fixes

Gameplay
  • You should now get kicked when the game ends. We have had previously situations where the game did not end correctly. I have put measures in place to help prevent this.
  • Fixed getting duplicated crafting benches from the Bridger perk
  • Fixed Super Dice giving you items after you die
  • You should now get kills from the Creeper Army scroll
  • Fixed kit stats not showing bow kills (They will start counting towards them now)
  • Fixed kit customizer for the Athlete kit
  • Fixed Athlete kit giving Speed III instead of Speed II
  • Fixed heads sometimes dropping from the Head Rocket kill effect
  • Told all snowmen to stop attacking balloons
  • You should no longer get kicked from a kaboom
  • Fixed getting credit for killing your team mate
  • Fixed spectators breaking sprays
  • Removed the ability to spread water with the Chill Pants
  • Fixed water balloons giving you strange-looking items when you spam them
  • Fixed chests getting cleared when a player dies while looting them
  • Fixed being able to get kills when a ranked game ends in a draw
  • Fixed Dragon Rider spawning and flying into the void
  • You can now free yourself if someone traps you under a chest
    • If you were trapped under a chest, you couldn't break any blocks around you
    • With this bug fix patch, all you have to do is right click anywhere once to be able to break blocks around you
