Media Gallery



With the media gallery we are finally giving the creative people within the Hypixel community a better place to show-off their amazing artwork or videos. Here is a short overview of what the media gallery offers:

• Browse artwork and videos related to the server
  
• See which media is currently popular using the “Trending” sorting
  
• Like and comment media
  
• Share your own creations!

The media gallery can be found as a node in the forum list or you can just click here if you don’t want to go all the way there now

However, please do only add content that is related to Hypixel and that you own the rights to.

Art Contest Final Round!

Firstly, remember that Art Contest we did last month? Well one of the main reasons we did this was to actually launch the Media Gallery!

Almost one month ago we started the art contest! Everyone could show their creative side by submitting their own drawing for the theme "Hypixel". The submissions we have gotten are just mind-blowing!

Over 400, submissions were entered, and all entrants are entered into our lucky draw for 250,000 Arcade Coins + 10,000 Credits

Additionally we've been so impressed with the high quality of effort and quality of the drawings that we've decided to give all entrants 10,000 Arcade Coins Regardless of Result. These will be given out in Early August alongside us announcing the winners for the contest overall.

A jury picked the best entries consists out of Hypixel Admins & Mods. One of them being resident Artist @Xael - Thomas Frick.

You need to pick your favorite drawing(s) by liking them in our Media gallery inside the Artwork contest! The drawing with the most likes by August 1st wins the contest!

Pixel Painters Links



There has also been a small update to our recently added game Pixel Painters. Instead of an imgur link you now receive a link to a Hypixel site which shows information about the drawing, your other recent drawings, links to easily share your creation. Note that if you preferred imgur - you can still click to "view on imgur".

A new Arcade Game is now live on the Network! Pixel Painters!

The game is quite simple and easy to play. You can think of it as a little like Build Battle - but in 2D instead with paintings


Above you can can see the layout for Pixel Painters, the controls are quite simple though!



Votes are shown as little Hypixel medals which you'll see at the bottom left of each painting, you get coins by voting, and you can't vote for yourself!

You can also report naughty players using the anvil during voting - this hides their submission from your view and submits the image to us for review, we have a new system to punish these users ;-).

Try to do a better job than @Hypixel though!

There are 9 different tools which you can use, as well smart undo/redo functions, be sure to try them all - a winning painting will use a variety! You can even set a different brush radius size!

For the shapes, you don't click and hold - instead you click between points.

At the start of the voting phase everyone gets an imgur link, you can use this to show your painting to your friends! Tweet to @Hypixel and we might give you a retweet too!

If you are a Youtuber who finds use for these pictures for their thumbnails, you can disable the overlay in the options menu before the game starts!

Build Battle Live! (Main Stage Event!!!)
When: Sunday 12:30pm UK Time

'Build battle Live!' Is a special edition of Build Battle Teams made for just for Minecon - only 2 teams play at time - and the crowd get the real power over the game!

Attendees votes live at the event on which theme our contestants play, how to sabotage the contestants (TNT Drop?! Make them blind?!) and ultimately which team wins.

There will be 3 matches featuring some of your favorite Youtubers!


Be sure to check it out on the official stream even if you aren't able to make it to Minecon!

Tournament Zone (Exhibition Hall)
When: All hours of the Convention being open!

In partnership with Multiplay (who run the awesome Insomnia events in the UK among doing many other things) we are going to be running both Build Battle and TurboKartRacers at Minecon on a whopping total of 56 PC's for all Minecon attendees to play on!

There will be 2 Games of TKR and 2 Games of Build battle running throughout the event! Stop on by and prove your Creative skills or your skills on the racetrack!

Other cool stuff being run by Multiplay at the Tournament Zone includes. Timed Parkour, and Survival Games (Multiplay's Event Versions) as well as Noxcrew Gameshow!

Hypixel 3D Weapon Workshop (Expo Stage 2)
When: Saturday 1:30pm UK Time

Ever wonder the techniques we use to make the cool 3D models that you see in Warlords and Turbo Kart Racers?

mooTV and Xael are going to teach attendees the tricks we use to make them from start to finish! We'll demo the entire process of making a 3D sword in Cubik! @Proper and @Otium from the HPBT will be on hand to answer any questions about working on Warlords and Turbokart Racers!

We'll also share a bunch of tricks we've learned from our experiments!

Multiplayer Map Creation With the Hypixel Build Team (Platinum Suite)
When: Sunday 3:30pm UK Time

It's one thing to make Minecraft maps - but what about Minigame maps? There are a huge variety of them and each require some special approach!

MooTV will be moderating a panel along with the Hypixel Build Team that will showcase some of the behind the scenes work and thought processes that goes into making Hypixel Minigame Maps.

HPBT Members on the panel are @McLovinnnn @Bloderz @darkace @jpresent @Roddan @sarcasticburger

You'll learn about inspiration sources, sightlines, technical tips, how the shape of walls can effect player behavior and how we work as a team!

Tournament Zone Event - Turbo Kart Racers (Tournament Zone Stage)
When: Saturday 4pm UK Time

Antvenom and GizzyGazza will be hosting and commentating some games of Turbo Kart Racers and getting people from the audience involved and playing!

Who will be the fastest round the track?!?

The Hypixel Community Tavern (Just outside the West Gate)
When: Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm


All weekend we've got out a little cozy Pub that's literally on the door steps of the venue.

We have room for 40 seated guests at a time - so capacity is limited.

If you drop by here and can verify you are a donor to the server, we will give you a very awesome Hypixel Badge


You got to pass a little test for this first - You have to log in to your linked forum account in front of us to prove it ! - so be sure you know your password and username and have the account linked already!
If you try to cheat somehow we will know ;-), it keeps a history of who the account was linked to before!

Non-donors & Donors alike will also get a redemption code for something really cool on the server if they stop by to say hi!

We have 250 Total Badges and 500 Vouchers so that should be plenty for everyone , drop on by during the weekend sometime before 6pm and say hello to some of the admins! (Which admins will be there changes throughout the event!)

We really look forward to meeting you guys! Remember you can also find people from Hypixel at other places of the event too, but alas - you might not be able to stay too long - there is a lot to see at the convention!

Alcohol will NOT be served at the Tavern during public hours as this is very much a family event. Soft drinks and food are available to be purchased in the Tavern itself and is catered for by the Kitchen of the Venue. For those wishing to purchase alcohol there are alternative places literally next door.

Please note that the Hypixel Community tavern is not officially part of Minecon, nor is it endorsed by Mojang - its our own little thing we have going on nearby.

At 6pm each night the Tavern closes for some Admin only relaxation time ;-)

How do we know who to say hi to?

The admins all weekend will be wearing these lovely easy to spot green shirts! Say hello to us if you can, but remember we also have things to do at the event - we might not get too long to talk!

Helpers / Mods / Creative staff will all be given a grey and black shirt as part of their swag. If you see someone in a grey and black shirt - it means they either won it for doing something awesome or its a staff member! Give them a high five!

You can also follow the admins on various twitter accounts through the event.

Hey, Hypixel fans!

I've personally been drawing a lot recently and thus it's been decided to spread the love and organize a drawing contest! This is the perfect opportunity to bring your imagination out of the creative hub and show your talent to the community at large.

The theme for this contest is very large : Hypixel

You can draw anything you want from the Hypixel server! This could be an epic Megawalls scene, your Warlords character, your best Build Battle construction, your pet and you, the Turbo Kart Racers blimp with your name on it, the arcade lobby, the angel of death from Sky Wars.... the list goes on and on!

Judging

You can create your drawing the way you wish, be it manually or digitally. If it's the former, it could be painting, crayon, even a black and white pencil. As long as there's something to show and a lot of love in it we're fine!

We will not judge based on drawing abilities (although it's nice!) but rather on originality, efforts and compliance to the theme.

Prizes

• 1st place, you get 250,000 Arcade Coins + 5,000 Credits
• 2nd place, you get 200,000 Arcade Coins + 5,000 Credits
• 3rd place, you get 100,000 Arcade Coins + 5,000 Credits

There will also be 7 runner-up prizes of 50,000 Arcade Coins.

Everyone who participates with respectable efforts will instantly get one entry for the Drawing Contest Jackpot of 200,000 Arcade Coins + 10,000 Credits which will be rewarded to one random lucky entrant!

Note that only one entry may win rewards per player!

How to participate

1. Draw something!
2. If you drew it on a piece of paper, scan it.
3. Upload your image file to an image host. We recommend imgur.com
4. Complete the SUBMISSION FORM.
5. That's it!

Entries close on the 13th of July 2015, a panel of 5 Moderators and Admins will decide on the winners in the few weeks following that date. Prizes will be distributed right after the winners announcement.

Can I submit more than one drawing?
Yes! But you will only be able to grab a reward with one of them.

Can I do my drawing on my computer?
Yup.
