Hytale is a 3D sandbox that sits halfway between the level of creativity offered by a game like Minecraft and the epic adventure of an RPG like Skyrim. To fully understand the game, however, you need to know that it began development in 2015, with financial support from Riot Games. Five years later, Riot bought the studio and the project. And, in 2025, after another five years, Riot canceled the game. The original creator, Simon Collins, however, bought the project back from Riot just a few months later and continued the development.
