I, Voidhanger Records welcomes French band VOID PARADIGM, who return to the metal scene with the album "Tout Ira Mieux Sans Nous," replicating the structure and atmospheres of their previous work "Ultime Pulsation / Demain Brûle" (Avantgarde Music, 2020).
Divided into two parts that can be considered as just one long song, VOID PARADIGM's new album delves further into sonic experimentation, questioning the boundaries between musical styles and making it difficult to pin it down to one category.
"Tout Ira Mieux Sans Nous" blends elements from black metal, doom metal, jazz, progressive, and dodecatonic writing techniques, in a perfect balance made possible by the great compositional skills of Julien Payan (ATARAXIE, SORDIDE), honed over years of studying classical guitar and chamber music. Alongside him, the extraordinary jazz metal drummer Alexis Damien (NO TERROR IN THE BANG) and the excellent singer Jo Théry (ATARAXIE, FUNERALIUM), both also involved in the musical arrangements. Last but not least, special guest Mütterlein contributes to the album's identity with her intense vocal performance.
Accompanied by an enigmatic cover that reproduces the works of French sculptress Clarisse Griffon du Bellay, "Tout Ira Mieux Sans Nous" deals with nihilism, nowadays disturbances –be it climatical, social, political– and the desire for never ending growth and individualism that are leading humanity to its own collapse.
"In a poetic way," VOID PARADIGM explain, "this album invites us to embrace this fall with a kind of positive commitment which can be summarized in the album title: Everything will be better without us."
