adminMAto Fark•Video shows bystander killed in Orlando police chase was pinned under officer's car for fifteen minutes as the officer chased down someone who had an unreadable license plate. Priorities, people2·8 months agoHa! No, it was me. This sub is fed from Fark.com’s RSS feed, but the RSS feed has links to fark.com instead of the actual link. I was fixing it to do an extra step so it can link to the actual story instead, and it took a couple tries to get it working right. It should work now though, let me know if anything is broken going forward.

Anyway, I fixed it for you guys, in case someday someone wants to click and read the story for some crazy reason.
Took me a while because I’m lazy, but there ya go.
adminAto Left News Wire•Why it makes sense for green-tech exporter China to ramp up coal power1·8 months agoEveryone knows that one answer is always right, and one answer is always wrong, and we don’t need to learn about the world if anything ever conflicts with our favorite way to look at things. That’s one of the most unhealthy things you can ever do: Expose yourself to situations and viewpoints where your own favored way of looking at things is not the right answer. Avoid it at all costs. Glad to hear you demanding the deletion of anything that corresponds to that unhealthy paradigm.
adminAto Left News Wire•Why it makes sense for green-tech exporter China to ramp up coal power11·8 months agoSCMP always treads the line for me between opinions I happen not to agree with, and propaganda. They never really do or say anything “wrong,” objectively, but there’s always a little trickle of really weird stuff in the feed.
That said, this article doesn’t seem wrong to me. It just seems realistic. Maybe they’re being dishonest about the underlying reality, but it doesn’t automatically seem wrong to me. Maybe if I knew more I would change my mind but that’s my take on it.

adminMAto Al Jazeera•Hamas calls for UN action as Israel escalates brutal bombardment of Gaza1·9 months agoGuys, you can stop reporting CannonFodder. I trust the users to be able to figure out on their own who’s talking sense in the conversation, and who’s being ridiculous.
Could be. The overwhelming majority of people seem like they view it as a positive, but if you think of anything I can do beyond what I’ve already done to make it less impactful on the people who feel that it’s a negative, let me know. For example that’s why it’s segregated to a separate instance and not combined in with any other content so it’s easier to block.
(Actually, I think your instance has done something additional about it already, they marked a previous iteration with some kind of special flag that makes results from this instance not show up in the “home” feed which makes a good bit of sense to me. It might be worth checking if they’ve done that to ibbit.at specifically, they probably will want to if they haven’t already.)
Sure. It’s just set up to post whatever is the RSS body, but I added an exception for your blog to just post the link to it. I haven’t tested, so just let me know if it’s still doing it and I’ll look into it more.
I didn’t think about it, but it’s a good idea. If people are into the idea I’ll set it up again, it should be easy to do.

@RedWizard@hexbear.net What do you think? I have a blacklist for common spam phrases that usually keeps the feeds relatively free of this stuff, but The Canary seems pretty adept at doing stories like this that don’t really have obvious keywords in the headline.
