Hello! I’m Ioanna–a PhD student in Computer Science at Brown University, advised by Ritambhara Singh.

My research focuses on understanding how deep learning models learn and reason over heterogeneous, multimodal data. I believe that for deep learning models to be meaningfully deployed in high-stakes domains such as healthcare, two components are essential: (a) principled representations that integrate diverse data sources in a coherent way, and (b) sufficient insight into the mechanisms by which models arrive at their predictions.
