When we have really dense, fact-heavy episodes (don’t worry, they won’t all be like that!), we’ll supplement that with a blog post that covers the information we researched for the podcast. This is Matthew here, to talk about my favorite family of plants, Orchidaceae , the Orchids.

Mounting Orchids gives us an idea of how they would grow naturally. It can be difficult to think about giving up a planter. But if you want to have a more authentic look, go for a mounted orchid. Riding an orchid has some real benefits. In addition to being the most realistic way to display an orchid, mounted orchids can live on your slabs for years. Find out if this could be a good setup for you! #urbakigardening #gardening #orchid #mountingorchid #naturallyorchid Wall Orchids Ideas, Orchid Display Outdoor, Outdoor Orchid Display Ideas, Orchid Mounting Ideas, Orchid Decor Living Room, Orchid Display Ideas Indoor, Orchid Pots Ideas, Orchid Setup, Plants Display Ideas

Krystal Duran on Instagram: "Orchid are epiphytes. They grow on top of other plants and are not anchored in the soil. Epiphytes take up their nutrients from water, air, and debris around them.

Living in Indiana, fall and winter temperatures get less than 55 degrees consistently which would prevent us from being able to anchor orchids or other plants to trees so this will just have to do.

When choosing a board, choose one that is rot resistant. I used cork bark since it doesn’t rot but it’s also very easy to make holes in. It’s fairly plyable.

Hang in a spot that will get light, water the moss when it’s almost dry, and you can incorporate liquid orchid fertilizer in the water when blooms fall off.

Now we can live our orchid hanging dreams… inside 🌸
