Kerri on Instagram: "I had a play with adding some slip to this piece. I just love creating texture. After all that- I’m thinking though glazing and what I’d like the final outcome to look like… I’m not sure I’m going to be happy with this. I think I might scrape it back and try something else." Twisted Clay Studio on Instagram: "After working with this textured throwing method again recently, I decided it would be fun to make a pitcher using this same technique. There is something satisfying about adding the texture wet and then expanding it. For a while I was really into carving and this is sort of in that same family but obviously much faster outcome as you don’t have to meticulously carve each individual line. I can’t wait to see how these come out! #pottery #ceramics #handmade #clay #art #ceramic #ceramicart #stoneware #potterylove #instapottery #wheelthrown #handmadepottery #pottersofinstagram #handmadeceramics  #tableware #contemporaryceramics #potterystudio #artist #glaze #potter #potterylife #potteryteacher #potterythrowing #potterywheel" Pitcher Pottery Ideas, Ceramics Throwing Ideas, Ceramic Pitchers Ideas Handmade Pottery, Wheel Throwing Pottery Ideas, Pottery Ideas Wheel Thrown, Pottery Carving Ideas, Pottery Throwing Ideas, Wheel Thrown Pottery Ideas, Wheel Throwing Ideas

Nicola Moore ✄ - - - on Instagram: "I’m excited to get back into the studio after what feels like a huge, and super lovely break visiting family and friends in Australia.

Here, I’m adding a little texture to the outside of this ritual cup with a texture roller. I’m looking forward to seeing this texture, and the play of light on it, under a shimmering luster glaze! 🙌🥰✨

I have lots of pieces waiting to be bisque fired on my return. Let’s hope the jet lag isn’t too brutal. I always find going this direction, back to Los Angeles, harder. But there could also be a bit of post trip come down at play… 😉

Anjali | QUIRKY CERAMICS on Instagram: "Black and white is a classic for this technique and porcelain looks best when it is fired with clear glaze! Thanks ClayKing 👑@claykingceramics 👑for sponsoring this post! The tools used are, speedball bats , Mayco underglaze and sodium silicate from CLAY KING Use Code👑👑 “quirky” 👑👑to save $5 on $50 and $10 on $100 How to - The crackle texture! 💬 Thick cylinder is important for this technique or it will collapse later when you try to expand 💬 We could also do this without using an underglaze and fire it with a glaze that shows textures 💬 Sodium silicate has to be dry before expanding and thick coats provide good cracks Hope you find this useful. Have fun trying this! Let me know if you have any questions!"
