Gray jay bird

The gray jay (Perisoreus Canadensis) is between 10 and 13 inches in length. It’s a quiet and fluffy jay, found in small groups. The gray jay has several nicknames, including Canada jay and whiskey Jack. Some people also call it the “camp robber” for its willingness to take any food it wants. The deceptively cute Canada Jay is one of the most intrepid birds in North America, living in northern forests year-round and rearing chicks in the dark of winter. Highly curious and always on the lookout for food, Canada Jays eat just about anything, from berries to small animals. They may even land on your hand to grab a raisin or peanut. During summer they hoard food in trees to sustain themselves through bleak winters.

The Canada Jay was once known as the Gray Jay. This hardy mountain bird does not migrate and is one of the few bird species that actually store food in caches to survive the cold winter months
