79K views · 1.3K reactions | I had no problem ignoring tantrums because I knew that the connection cup with my kids was overflowing. What I teach is connecting more than anything. The discipline is a tiny part of all this. When you're connected with your kids and they feel that you value time with them, fun is their love language and fun in their world is their love language. When you do enough of that, then from my experience, you can ignore the tantrums, because their cup is full. It's overflowing. The connection cup's got to be full. In my opinion, a tantrum is just a loss of emotional control at not getting their own way. Allow them to process that. By the way, this is a clip from the latest BratBusters Parenting Podcast Episode on how to stop kids from hitting. You can listen to the full episode now on your favourite podcast player! 🎧 P.S. 1.2M views · 31K reactions | Dealing with the “mine” stage with your toddler? My advice would be to just ignore it. If you need to take something away from them and they say mine, I would still take it away. As a parenting leader, when you say something's going to happen, you need to make sure it happens. It’s actually proving to your toddler that you mean what you say and say what you mean. Not sure where to start in your calm leadership journey? 43K views · 380 reactions | How to go about teaching a 3-year-old boundaries? She already knows the boundaries, she's just not listening to them. The way you get them to respect boundaries is you use consequences. We all learn through rules and consequences. They learn through consequences. They already know boundaries. They don't act out because they don't know what to do or what not to do. They act out because of a lack of consequences. So you've got to make it worth their while to not do it. 40K views · 537 reactions | 4-year-old procrastinating at bedtime? So what you do is you set a timer and you say, there's a consequence if they're not in bed by a certain time, the next morning there'll be a consequence. If they haven't done what they need to do within a certain amount of time, then there's a consequence. Not sure where to start in your calm leadership journey? 262K views · 5.2K reactions | Your 3-year-old is running away in public? I would put them on a harness before I go out and I say to them, if you run away from me, because you're old enough to know better, if you run away from me, you're going to be put on this leash and be ready. As soon as they start to run, clip them in and say that was your choice. It’s going to be really difficult, but that's how they'll learn. You have got to be willing to go through the storms to get to the rainbows. Remember, this is about keeping them safe. P.S.
