Matt Tommey on Instagram: "One more commission I’m delivering next week to North Carolina - this is a 5’x3’ wall hanging for a beautiful mountain home. The drawing is how it all begins. This piece is a collection of baskets made primarily from kudzu and poplar bark although there’s also honeysuckle & grapevine in the random weave nests. Everything is infused with encaustic wax and then the smaller baskets are painted in my signature style using encaustic and natural pigments.
