In 2nd grade, students start to measure with standard units such as inches, feet, yards, centimeters, and meters. I lay out how I teach this measurement unit in my second grade classroom. There are lesson ideas, great read alouds for literacy connects, as well as a project based learning activity that I did to assess my students transfer of their conceptual understanding of measurement. In 2nd grade, students start to measure with standard units such as inches, feet, yards, centimeters, and meters. I lay out how I teach this measurement unit in my second grade classroom.
