This Leipzig firm succeeded the short-lived Hermann Seemann (1895-1900) a literary publisher. Hermann Seemann Nachfolger itself only functioned for less than ten years, starting in 1900.
Its main output was books on music, especially two long series of short guides: Der Opernführer on operas, and Der Musikführer on composers and works. It also published guides to Berlin such as this one on Berlin's dance halls.
The music catalog, which included some important composers of the time such as Koessler and Draeseke, seems to have been taken over by Universal Edition of Vienna.
