Formerly known as patellar tendinitis, this refers to pain in front of the knee just below the knee cap. This tendon is among the MOST commonly affected. ⁣  • ⁣  • ✅ SAVE this for reference!⁣  • ⁣  There are a FEW things that could contribute pain here and several differentials that should be ruled out like plica syndrome, Patellofemoral joint pain, fat pad irritation, and growth plate injuries (Osgood-schlatter’s).   P. Tendinopathy usually affects people between 15-30 years and one of the most common complaints is pain near the tendon with activity like walking downhill/down stairs, and those that require repetitive jumping and cutting.
