Chocolate FRUIT. You can actually eat the non-chocolate pulp of this fruit. It is sweet, with a slight hint of sour strawberry. The rest of the interior can be used for chocolate production.

According to conventional wisdom, there three major varieties of cacao are: Forastero, the robust and most widely grown; Criollo, the higher quality but more expensive variety; and Trinitario, a hybrid of the other two. In reality, genetic analysis shows that there are more than 10 different varieties.
