Two cavers ascend out of the 162' Neversink Pit in Alabama. Photos do not give this place justice! This photo won an honorable mention in the 2006 NSS Slide Salon. In the summer time, there are glow worms in the walls of the pit and it is best to go there on a clear, moonless night. Rappel to the bottom and sit in the middle of the pit for about 15-20 minutes with your lights off and you will see the entire pit glowing once your eyes adjust. Late in February, I had the pleasure of chaperoning a field trip to Pop's Cave near Richland Center, WI, with Sparkly Seacow's 7th grade class.
