This stew was made by my mother to feed our unusually large family. It became a favorite of my husband and children. I have been able to reduce the fat by changing beef hot dogs to turkey franks. Great meal addition, especially on cold days. (My kids used to ask for it even in Summer) My mother used to call this the "husband catching stew" Many have turned their noses up because of the name or simple ingredients...until the try a bowl full!

My mother made this soup for her six children. It is a warm and filling mixture of potatoes, green beans, and frankfurters that's easy to make. We all love it; hope you do, too! Serve with salad and warm rolls.
