I like my porridge super thick, you?

A little bit under the weather from all the travelling so it’s porridge time! I like my porridge/congee SUPER THICK but I hate making it over the stovetop because it takes super long, you have to mind the fire, constantly stir, etc etc eww - but doing this in the rice cooker gets me the same consistency with zero effort. Actually, you can even take a nap while it cooks.

- 1 cup rice
- 2-3 cups water (basically more water than you usually need for rice)
- 1 tsp ginger paste (optional)
- 1 tbsp chicken stock powder or bouillon cube
- 1 chicken breast

Dump all ingredients in the rice cooker, and hit cook! Use porridge settings if available, otherwise regular rice settings. Let it cook for 30 mins Rice Congee, Chicken Porridge, Ginger Paste, Rice Cooker Recipes, Porridge Recipes, Under The Weather, Bouillon Cube, More Water, Basmati Rice
