"I made Elsewhere over a year and a half of grieving the loss of possibly the most influential person that’s ever been in my life. My uncle's sudden death left me reeling and thoroughly pushed the boundaries of my understanding of “living”, of “believing”, of “existing”. While I was making this music, I wasn’t thinking about releasing it; it was just something I needed to do because I needed to find places to go. The physical world limits me, society traps me, and tools like sound help me move around into places where I’m able to feel things and see things I need to feel and see that aren’t possible when I’m “here”.

Sometimes the album takes me higher, sometimes it takes me deeper, oftentimes I fall asleep off and on throughout a listen. I think falling asleep to music is a profound experience.

As I finish work on Elsewhere, I am aware also of many other things that have happened over the year and a half of working on it. I do not live in a safe world, a hopeful world, or see any particular light at the end of the tunnel. I still somehow believe in a different world, in unexpected possibilities. The need to have somewhere else “to go” at times becomes a necessary safety valve. This album is for anyone who can use it. It is in memoriam of Michael Adair-Kriz because he taught me everything and continues to." -WSB

Willow Skye-Biggs is a filmmaker, music producer, and multimedia artist. As a musician Skye-Biggs has released more than 30 albums over the past 15 years, ranging from textural ambient to hyper club pop. As a filmmaker she has had films screened at numerous film festivals around the globe including NewFest in NYC, GAZE in Dublin, Transfilm Stockholm in Sweden, and most recently was awarded Best Trans+ Genre Short at TRANSlations in Seattle for the film Dragonfly. As a gallery artist she has shown several multimedia installations, most notably Tastes Like Mandy which was presented at UMOCA in 2017. She also draws and paints stuff.
