The truth is, I’m 5’10” and I can reach those bottles standing straight up. The niche collects less water than the higher ledge where the glass sits. AND no one says it has to be this low. There is plenty of space for it to have been higher or placed on the same wall as the shower controls. While it doesn’t bother me a bit, the height of it isn’t the point. The point is that the bottles and soaps stay hidden unless you’re in the shower 🚿 2️⃣ I love the custom look of the tile-in shower drain. It feels like an expensive feature that’s not actually expensive. The soap scum and streaks eventually became something I was unable to clean which was even worst! So now we have moved into an era where renovators are a little more adventurous which is where the half nib wall comes in. The half nib wall allows for less glass while taking away that crucial worst spot of the shower base. Besides the cleaning the half wall instead of the full wall allows for light to come through which opens up the space.
