Danica Rediscover Ceramics on Instagram: "4 Simple pottery hacks for cleaning up edges.
Bonus tips-
*Make sure your clay is leather hard before proper clean up (like cheddar cheese firm- not soft Bri cheese 😆)
* Keep your tools clean and sharp (yes it will blunt your good scissors so don’t use them)
*There are fancy versions of all of the tools used, these are the budget friendly versions. They work fine for these processes.

Comment your favourite tool/ hack for pottery clean up.

Quick tips and hacks for potters
If you find it useful don’t forget to save!

Yesterday’s post was about throwing multiples off the hump. I used a tombo to get a consistent size.

This is a quick tombo make using bits lying around. A chopstick, like comes with a takeaway meal, and a skewer.

Break the skewer to be the width of the cup. You can also do it for the inside width if you prefer. Then position the chopstick to just touch the bottom inside.

Once you have these dimensions tie it off with string. I have tried this with a rubber band but find its straighter with string.

It will last ages!

I hope you found this useful.
