Since moving into this house, I have envisioned a fireplace flanked by bookcases in our living room. One Sunday morning while feeling frustrated by our unsuccessful attempts at finding an electric fireplace and bookcases within our budget, a light bulb went off in my head. This was a very unique retrofit as we needed to add space to be able to accommodate a much larger flat panel TV. As you will see in the before photograph the furniture was originally designed for a small TV. The challenge was to install a larger TV without covering up the existing bookcase or display cabinet.
