several bikes are parked next to each other in the back yard with wooden pallets

This is an easy to build, minimal extra supplies needed, and a perfect way to keep your bikes out of the weather. We used a total of 18 pallets. Here's how we did it! Started with 20 pallets...after trial and error, found that a sawzall was best taking a part the pallets. Checking out the size...looks right. You can see we used 6 whole pallets for the base and one cut in half for the back wall. Side view after filling in the gaps of the pallets. We added 2x4s from front to back…

a large wooden pallet sitting in the middle of a yard next to a building

a bike is parked in front of a wooden fence with a awning over it

Built a client a bike shelter. They were surprised by the simple design, but found it to be quite workable. The structure is very light so doesn't put any strain on the fence that I could see. I used 2 x 3's. Borrowed the idea from DIY friends. I did the same thing at home so had a picture to show client already, but this one is bigger since there's more space between gate and fence. They have four bikes to fit here so should be enough room.
