Whitney DePaoli | Sugar & Sparrow on Instagram: "How to make a Striped Buttercream Cake ✨my process for this has evolved over the years and this is how I currently do it (although I just saw a hack the other day that might make it even easier 🤔😆):⁣ ⁣ 1. Start with a chilled, crumb coated cake and add about 1/4 inch layer of buttercream all over it. Smooth the sides down until they’re level.⁣ 2. Refrigerate the cake for about 15 minutes, or until the buttercream is less sticky and semi-set. This makes it easier to comb through and create straighter lines.⁣ 3. Use a stainless steel cake comb to create the grooves. You can gently heat the cake comb under hot water (dry it off thoroughly) before using it on your cake. This helps make the grooves more perfect.
