I absolutely love this tattoo. I have a wee bit ;) of Scottish blood in me. My paternal Great-Grandmother's name was Maria Bell. My dad had the crest with the Rampant Lion and "Bell" above it...I would love to get a smaller version of this tattoo (not only to represent a part of my heritage; my boyfriend (and his Mum) is from England and his father is from Scotland. So I thought, now THAT would be a lovely tribute. The only thing that I would change would be how the knot is intertwined...

Maybe for my Oklahoma tattoo I can get someone to design a vine with these Celtic features, and use the thistle at some point..... When I stayed with Vicky & Clarence in Sept. 2008 I walked around the farm and came across the thistles growing there... For some reason they became an endearing icon of that summer... Michael moving to Maine, unemployment & job interviews, the H. farm, late night porch jams, Jameson whiskey, Old Grandad bourbon...
