How does the game fit the theme?
Losing lives helps you get through the level, but you risk not having enough for future levels. Grabbing biscuits gives you chips, which you can gamble to try and gain more or use them to buy more lives.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music and sound effects

What a really great job, i liked the idea of using the dead body as platform so much, especially after i thought that is impossible to pass level 5, good sounds, arts and level design

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Really cool game. I really liked the mechanic of using dead 'Munchy's' as platforms! The audio balancing for the music could do some work though, some of the music level blasted through my headphones!

Overall: THIS IS QUITE THE FUN GAME! Really!

Hits:

  • The platforming is nice and thrilling.
  • The mechanic of dying and using your corpse to move forward always feels nice.
  • The layer of gambling your biscuits, although a little bit orthogonal to the main loop does manage to feel rewarding.
  • Visuals and sound design are alright!

Opportunities:

  • Add borders on the limits of the maps; I died a few times falling outside of the map where I can’t see.
  • Maybe implement adjustments to the gambling mechanic so that it’s not too DO OR DIE because sometimes I just felt like taking a little risk, but I didn’t gamble because the price was too high.
  • Maybe add secondary biscuits sprinkled throughout the levels so that the most skilled players can go for them and gamble more safely at the price of risking their lives.

Nice feedback! I will definitely add those things if I develop the game further

It’s kind of a combination of a famous game on GMTK and our previous game ((jack in loop)) I really liked it.

Pretty cool game! Nice tutorial, it eases you into the game nicely! The visuals are simple but nice to look at and the slime is obviously very well done! Other's have mentioned the sound being too loud which is true. The main issue I had was respawning, it's hard to tell when you're about to die, so if you don't expect it chances are you're going to be still moving the moment you respawn causing you to potentially fall off whatever starting platform you were on and losing a life unfairly. I do like the gameplay though, jumping feels pretty good! The main gambling mechanic for lives has some potential but I can't say it clicked with me much, I do like the idea though, overall good work, a fun game!

Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!

Would be great if the left edge of the level was a wall so you couldn't lose a life by rolling backwards!

Needed a settings menu at the beginning to be able to quieten the music (it blew my head off a little bit)

But the mechanics are sound, and the movement and jumps are smooth and intuitive :)

Loved the visuals, the death feature is really cool, remind me the last game I did

i like visuals of main character, nice take

Nice twist on a platformer incorporating the theme! It adds a thinking layer on top of the precision jumping layer. Well done!

Really cool slime mechanics! And well done on having the tutorial as part of small levels..always great to see that!

Having your body in the place you lose is a nice touch allows the player to risk more exactly as the jam theme want it :D

Suggestions;

  • Opening and Closing the Spin Panel with E is fine but consider adding a close btn or bind it to ESC for beter UI navigation.
  • After the basic tutorial lvls are completed the player could start on the lost lvl again instead of the very first...or at least at the first lvl after the tutorial to encourage him to replay the game and keep retention.

I can really see that game being also released on mobile!

Well Done!

Fun game with a cool concept! I liked thinking ahead and planning where to leave my body to help with the next run

I love the squishiness/sliminess effect on the slime. Not a big fan of playing platformers just because I'm utterly bad at it, but I appreciate the work you've done here. :)

Very nice animations and particles for the slime. Idea of leaving a body is also very player friendly! I was a bit annoyed with the music volume, but overall enjoyed playing! :)

Love the visuals and the progressively changing character sprite based on health. Innovative idea of using dead character's body as a safety net. Enjoyed the game!

The levels dont seem to have a hard wall of stopping character from moving into another level past the camera bounds, I am not sure if it is intended?

Great game! It has loads of charm. The main character changing visually depending on how many lives you have is a nice touch. The fact that you have to use your own lives to get across the maps adds a fun risk combined with the platforming :)

I love the art and slime animation. I also love how you can use dying as a positive to help you beat levels. really enjoyed my time in this game

I love the slimes animations and movements. Also being able to gamble for lives was hilarious. Cool concept.

Woah reminds me of "Cats are liquid"! Nice execution and wonderful mechanics!

Although i would like a collider on the edges of the screen >v<

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Pretty sure there are colliders, maybe I missed one though

I liked the movements of the slime
