very nice. my spark bird was the plain unassuming jay. i saw it on a walk with my wife and couldnt remember what its called so i said its an oriole, and my wife never let me live this down. since then i started learning about birds so she can’t poke fun at me again <3

a modded nswengine entry, i am stunned. very pretty little game poem

after a failed attempt at a jam game today this is just what i needed, thanks

had a wonderful time playing this. the imagery is very evocative and i found messages such as “an apple a day is doctor” very motivating. beautiful game

thank you i planned my garden using this useful tool, i am expecting to grow many things this season

it worked! you are the savior of the people

yaaay well deserved!!

hi!!!! i think in chromium browsers there is an issue with blocking default events for arrow keys (so the itch page scrolls up/down when you hit that up/down arrow). my wife found this when she was checking out my first plano game, it got in the way of her truly appreciating my genius, help!

horse magnifier? more like horse magni-fire cause… cause the game’s fire

i completed my playthrough! it took around 3 hours total i think and i loved every second of it

i know some stuff was cut from the late game, but at no point of my playthrough did stuff feel rushed or missing. the bugs i encountered were very minor and non-blocking.

the npcs are all pretty and unhinged, and i loved talking to all the weirdos here. i like the off-handed way the story and some of the tips on mechanics are delivered in the dialogue.

the growth system and the fact that there is multiple routes to completing the game add replayability - i can imagine clearing this again in some time and trying to go for a different growth progression and ending.

honestly, this was an all-round joyful romp, thanks for sharing this!

y-yaaaaay?

literally me when i seek profit in the dungeon

what a magnificent world to take in and what great strife this brave hero had to endure to get his grub. masterpiece

some very good thoughts here. hope more people will be able to discover and read this

wow this one threw me for a loop. i recognized the alternating terrain types from one of the earlier sketches so i knew instantly what’s going on there, and did a bit of work at the beginning to weigh the risk-reward. then from there i started exploring, and discovered several locations before actually hitting one that allowed me to make some sort of progress. i think i got a bit unlucky, but two things that compounded the frustration a bit were:

  1. the way the terrain is structured (probably on purpose) makes it really hard to draw a mental map of it. so i had a desperate thought at the back of my head that when i restart the game i probably won’t be able to trace back my steps to the location i need

  2. even when playing it safe and sticking to the grass i had several instances where the slimes would dodge 3 - 4 of my attacks in a row, really draining my resources

overall i really like the concept here though, just like with all the other sketches! i think i keep getting a bit unlucky in my playthroughs of the recent ones though!

ooooh ok, thanks for including the map in the notes. i got unlucky in my search it seems, and ended up circumnavigating the world via the grunita strait. and looped all the way back to where i started :D

i am afraid mr pie never found the promised land, but he sure had a dang good time sailin. after all, he was the sailin man
