Years ago, I started my blog as a simple way to write down my recipes. But now, 11 years later, my blog has almost 1000 unique recipes and I've published 3 bestselling, award-winning cookbooks! Life has changed and this blog of mine has had a lot of changes and cool features added!
To make sure you get the most out of It Doesn't Taste Like Chicken, here's a little breakdown of all the cool tricks and features you can find in the recipes. Not only are these dishes delicious, but I do my best to make them easy to navigate as well. ๐
🌟 TIP 1: Skip directly to the recipe.
I love to include lots of information and photos in my posts, but sometimes you just want to go straight to the recipe. You can easily do this by clicking the "Jump to Recipe" button at the top of any article.
🌟 TIP 2: Change serving sizes to increase or reduce a recipe!
Want to double, triple, or half a recipe? There are three ways you can easily do this. Method 1: Change the serving size by using the + or - buttons. Method 2: type in a new number next to servings, or Method 3: click the ยฝ, 1x, or 2x buttons. All of the measurements will be automatically adjusted to suit the new recipe size!
🌟 TIP 3: Check off ingredients as you go.
If you want to keep track, you can check off the ingredients as you add them. Just click the little box beside each ingredient as needed.
🌟 TIP 4: Change from US to Metric measurements.
By default, all of the recipes will be shown in US cups and spoons measurements as that's what I use. However, if you prefer to use metric, simply click the word "Metric" just below the last ingredient in the list and it will automatically be switched grams and MLS!
🌟 TIP 5: Leave a review (+ chance to win $100)!
Your feedback is incredibly valuable! Please take a moment to leave a star rating and a brief comment. This not only supports my work but also helps other readers choose recipes they'll love.
Plus by leaving a star review + comment you'll be automatically entered for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card. A new winner is chosen every month!
To rate, simply click the stars, enter your name, email, and a short comment. (If you donโt see fields for your name and email, itโs because youโre already logged in).
🌟 TIP 6: Read the comments and ask questions
The comment section is the perfect place for your feedback and questions. We strive to answer all your queries, and your reviews are essential in supporting my work. They help me understand which recipes you enjoy the most, inspiring me to create more delicious dishes.
🌟 TIP 7: Stop your screen from sleeping
Picture this, you're following a recipe, your hands are covered with food, and then suddenly your screen goes dark just when you need to see the next step in the recipe. Instead of covering your device in sauce (been there, done that), next time, just turn on "Cook Mode" before you start your dish which will prevent your screen from going dark! Find it below the ingredient list. (Note this feature doesn't work on every type of device yet).
🌟 TIP 8: Turn step-by-step photos on or off
I include step-by-step photos in many recipes to help make cooking easier. These will be on by default, but if want to hide them, click the "📷 Off" button.
🌟 TIP 9: Watch cooking videos
Many of my recipes have videos with cooking instructions. This can be especially helpful for us visual learners. If a recipe has a video you can find it below the recipe instructions or click the video button to skip directly to it.
🌟 TIP 10: Only print the info you want!
Click the "Print Recipe" link which you will find under the star rating. From there you can turn off or turn on the features you would like to print including recipe images, instructional images, notes, or nutrition labels. From here you can also change the serving sizes and switch between US measurements or metric!
🌟 TIP 11: Never lose track of your favorite recipes again!
If you love a recipe, saving it to your private account is easy. You have two options: Click the ♥️ icon located in the lower right corner of the screen, or simply hit the "Save Recipe" button either at the top of the post or on the recipe card itself. Sign up for a free account, and your recipes will be securely stored in your own personal recipe box. Whenever you want to revisit your favorites, just press the ♥️ icon or 🔍 icon to access them. Plus, discover new recipe recommendations tailored to your tastes!
🌟 TIP 12: Learn how to adapt recipes to meet your dietary preferences
