This agave has a Christmas feel to it probably due the colors.

The Agave cactus grows happily in the region of Mexico where I lived and worked. There are fields of them in places, farmed for use in the manufacturing of Tequila. From a distance, the blue green color of their stems, has the hillsides around the town of Tequila appear to be covered in water. This plant was growing in the garden of the house I rented, actual on the beach. Occasionally one of the local witches "brujas", would knock on my door, wielding a rusty machete, slightly unnerving…

Majesty 16 x 20 Pastel on Textured Board For years as I drove down the main entrance road to my neighborhood, I admired this large green Agave salmiana sitting up high on a berm in the median. She was surrounded by purple lantana and both were nestled within white limestone boulders. I loved the way the purple lantana set off the blue green of the agave.
