Constructed in 1430 A.D., Borthwick Castle was once a residence for Mary and her beau, Lord Bothwell, as well as for Oliver Cromwell. It’s a formidable construction, boasting 15-foot-wide walls and stone turrets. (There was even a drawbridge at one time.)
